(5-6 GRADES)


So, today I again start the day from handouts. Today we're going to consider a very important topic that occurs quite often during the study period. I hope this will be useful!


1. It is an intermediate-level worksheet on shopping. It contains questions, picture descriptions, role-plays (buying and complaining) and shopping-related vocabulary development. The students are also asked to talk about advantages and disadvantages of shopping centres and corner shops. Moreover, they have to categorize and define certain shopping-related words/ phrases.
2. These are activity cards. You can use them to practice speaking skilsl with your students at the same time revising vocabulary connected with shopping. My students love this game! They get into pairs and choose one question, then they talk about it for 30sec and change the role.









 3. This is a reading comprehension exercise about shopping and its addiction. It's perfect for classes talking about shopping. You can use it in intermediate levels or above. What do you do for recreation? Do you swim, dance, play cards, garden, or read? Many people today prefer to spend their free time shopping. These people are called recreational shoppers. Recreational shoppers do not always buy anything. They really enjoy the shopping experience.












4. In this worksheet, students have to pick the appropriate word to fill the gap in this conversation between a travel agent and customer. Can also be used as a role-play activity. Target language/missing words are: budget, backpacking, agency, accommodation, youth hostels, reservations, destination, sight-seeing, book, landmarks, package tour, vacation.






5. The framework for the task is given but the details are up to the students. The class questions section gives students a target to build their role-play around. I have students answer the questions first and build their role-play around the answers. It has been highly successful!

A MINUTE FOR HANDOUTS PEOPLE, FAMILY, SOCIAL LIFE (10-11 GRADES)   Watch a legendary Christmas family movie with your students to enjoy Christmas season even more.
