Technology and science is the most current topic of the present time. Probably, even the youngest students know about many inventions that make our life much easier and more comfortable.
Today I would like to share new exercises in order to more clearly explain students this topic.

1.This is a listening worksheet based on a YouTube Video: ASAP Science - Humans in 1000 years. Students have to fill the gaps, answer questions and write their opinion about what humans will be  like 1000 years from now. Some of the topics mentioned in this video include technology, languages, mutation, artificial selection and others as well. Very interesting!
2. Introduction to ISE 2/ B2 level listening on subject of Electric Cars, to be used with audio #2 on webpage: http://trinitypro.org/b2-listening/. Sheet  contains listening for gist,  true/false listening and gap fill using  the text. Optional writing task. 
3. This worksheet starts with some general questions about IT help desks - what kind of people work at the help desk, what the most common problems are, etc. Students then watch a clip from the sitcom The IT Crowd (UK). There are comprehension questions from the clip and it introduces the idiom 'to hit it off'. The questions could be suitable for all levels of adults, however one of the actors has an Irish accent which is difficult to understand for lower levels. 4. This worksheet is good to do something different in your class. Your students can watch this episode of Modern Family and complete this worksheet. In this worksheet you will find different types of activities: finding adjectives, correcting mistakes, answering questions, etc. Once you finish watching the episode you check this worksheet with your students, then you can continue with some speaking about the episode. For example, ask them about their opinion on how this episode is recorded, if they like it or not, if they think it's original, if they have seen this before. After that, you can continue talking about technology and ask them what kind of electronic devices they own, which one they use the most, etc.
5. Song "Mobile phone" by İrish singer Richie Kavanagh is an amusing way to speak about mobile phones, practise new vocabulary and have fun. Students will have to listen to the song and fill in the missing words. Also they have to discuss the meaning of the words in italics. Have fun!

A MINUTE FOR HANDOUTS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY (10-11 GRADES) 1.  A worksheet to improve students vocabulary on the topics: science vs Technology. Students are asked to match some words related to the topic, with their correct definition. Key is included. It could be used as warm up activity or as a follow up activity on the issue. 2.  A worksheet to accompany season 6, episode 12 of Seinfeld. Students begin with a 'get to know the characters' activity before moving on to a collocations vocabulary activity and some pre-episode discussion questions. Pause the episode at 7:45 for a number of a comprehension questions then finish the episode for wrap-up and discussion questions.   3.  This is a movie worksheet based on  Steve Jobs (2015)  for B1+ students.
